It’s been 2 years since RESPECT started, and this time the annual meeting took place again at the Clinical Research Center for Rare Diseases “Aldo e Cele Daccò”, Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, Ranica (Bergamo), on June 28th 2023.
This time was different and more special, because we had the opportunity to meet the whole team for the first time in person, which made the meeting more enjoyable.
The day we arrived we had a very special dinner in a restaurant at the Città Alta of Bergamo, where we were able to get to know each other a little better in a more informal environment.
PIs from Germany (Universität Heidelberg), Spain (Universidad de Navarra), Denmark (Aarhus University), Romania (Siemens Healthineers) and Italy (Instituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri), were accompanied by their PhD students, and other researchers (radiologists and nephrologists) involved in the project.
The scheduleof the meeting was similar to the previous year. The main objectives and achievements of each work package (WP) were reviewed following the Gantt Chart (https://respectmri.com/project/), and the accomplished results were presented, followed by a brief discussion and comments to take into account for future work.
Although the project was progressing slowly, this meeting has allowed us to make progress on what was at a standstill and define the next steps to pick up speed in the remaining tasks.
The journey was brief but very fruitful, and we will put all our efforts in trying to finish the project on time.
