The 1st year RESPECT project meeting took place at the Clinical Research Center for Rare Diseases “Aldo e Cele Daccò”, Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, Ranica (Bergamo), Italy on June 29th 2022.
Due to the improvement in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was held in a hybrid format in Bergamo.
PIs from Germany (Universität Heidelberg), Spain (Universidad de Navarra) and Italy (Instituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri), accompanied by other people involved in the project, attended the meeting in person, and also had the opportunity to visit part of the beautiful city, specially la Città Alta.
During the meeting, the main objectives and achievements of each work package (WP) were reviewed. For each WP, the procedure was as follows: the responsible PI of the WP, commented on the main objectives of it, showed the results that had been accomplished so far and mentioned possible doubts and suggestions to consider. Then, the other groups involved in that WP, presented their results and finally a discussion to put everything in common and define the action points that each center must take into account in order to achieve the milestones.
“I think that the meeting was indeed useful to review objectives and achievements and plan for the next step” saids Anna Caroli our Project Coordinator.
We hope that next year we will be able to meet all RESPCT members at the annual meeting, as they are very fruitful meetings from which we learn and advance a lot.
